Coast Guard crews rescued four people from the Wando River overnight Friday.

A 21-foot bass boat crashed into a buoy near Remley’s Point in Mount Pleasant about 12:30 a.m., causing the vessel to lose control, Lt. Tim McNamara said.

The four people were rescued about a half hour later and received minor injuries, McNamara said.

He said the boat is aground on Drum Island.

City of Charleston officials, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Natural Resources assisted in the rescue. McNamara said the DNR is investigating the crash.
