Ladson man charged in sex assault
Charleston Police have charged a Ladson man in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Oct. 13 at an Orange Branch Road apartment.
Cecil Ray Kupfner, 30, of 9496 Highway 78 in Ladson, is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, police spokesman Charles Francis said. Kupfner is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
The incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. when a man entered the unlocked apartment and assaulted the victim, Francis said.
Police did not say how they tied Kupfner to the crime. The investigation is ongoing, Francis said.
