Carville, Matalin part of 7th District debate

MYRTLE BEACH — James Carville and Mary Matalin are scheduled to visit South Carolina as part of a debate for the state’s new 7th Congressional District.

The political couple is in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday. They’re slated to lead a program immediately before a debate between Republican Tom Rice and Democrat Gloria Bromell Tinubu at Myrtle Beach High School.

The debate is sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chambers of Commerce and the Grand Strand Business Alliance.

Carville is a Democratic political strategist who worked on President Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign. He is married to Matalin, a GOP political consultant who worked for several former presidents and was chief of staff for the Republican National Committee.
