Missing 17-year-olds from Sangaree located
The two 17-year-olds from the Sangaree area who were reported missing have been located.
Brandon Taylor of Beauregard Road and Denise Hurta of Arrowhead Drive were reported missing Monday, the day after they were last seen.
Capt. Rick Ollic of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, which investigated the case, said the duo were located tonight. There was no foul play in their disappearance, he said.
Relatives first reported Taylor missing early Monday morning. They told deputies that he was last seen walking home around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, according to an incident report.
In Facebook posts in which they asked for the 17-year-olds’ safe return, friends and family members said the two had attended a fair at Faith Assembly Church on Farmington Road in Summerville that evening.
Taylor’s mother told the authorities that her son called and said that “he would be on the way home in a few minutes,” the report stated.
Before the fair, Hurta left home Sunday because of an “altercation” with an aunt, her mother told deputies.
