Peatsy Hollings, wife of former Sen. Fritz Hollings, dies at 77

Peatsy Hollings, wife of former U.S. Sen. Fritz Hollings, passed away Sunday night .

Hollings, 77, succumbed after what friends said was a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She and Hollings had been married for 41 years. It was her first marriage, his second.

Fritz Hollings turned 90 in January.

Throughout their marriage and his political career the pair was considered inseparable whether it was on the stump or traveling around the state.
