Santorum to meet GOP faithful this afternoon in North Charleston
Former presidential hopeful and Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is dropping by the Charleston County GOP headquarters today to rally the troops.
Santorum, who is in town partly because one of his sons is a freshman cadet at The Citadel, will greet supporters around 4:30 p.m. and may even make a few phone calls, County Republican Chair Lin Bennett said.
Santorum campaigned in South Carolina more frequently than any other candidate in the run-up to the state’s January presidential primary, and he came in third, behind former Speaker Newt Gingrich and eventual GOP nominee Mitt Romney.
The local Republican headquarters is in the Tanger Outlet Mall, 4952 Center Point Drive, Suite 110 — next to the Sake House.
Bennett said the public is invited.
