Howe Hall Arts Infused Elementary School will have an intruder drill from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday.
Goose Creek Police, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, and Berkeley County Emergency Preparedness will participate in the event, during which the school will be on lockdown.
“Don’t get alarmed ... in the Goose Creek area if you hear sirens and the school is on lockdown during the simulation,” said Berkeley County Schools Superintendent Rodney Thompson.
The school is at 115 Howe Hall Road, Goose Creek.
The staged emergency will involve an intruder entering the building and shooting students, teachers and administrators.
Officials “will use this activity to review crisis procedures to better prepare us for real life situations,” Thompson said.
