Man dead, another charged with murder after shooting in Jacksonboro
JACKSONBORO — One man is in jail and another is dead after a shooting that took place Monday at a residence off Hope Plantation Road.
About 6 p.m., a woman called Colleton County 911 and reported her boyfriend had been shot at 72 Perkins Path. When firefighters, EMS and deputies arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. The victim, Demetrious Martel Williams of Pine Lane, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from Chief Deputy Ted Stanfield of the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office,
A suspect, David Lee Brown, 30, of Hope Plantation Road, was taken custody and charged with murder, the release said. A shotgun also was recovered.
According to the news release Williams and Brown knew each other, but the motive for the shooting was still under investigation.
