Two Gamecocks earn SEC honors after victory over Georgia

South Carolina’s Ace Sanders and T.J. Johnson earned Southeastern Conference player of the week honors for their performances in the Gamecocks’ 35-7 victory over Georgia on Saturday.
Sanders was recognized for his special teams play, including a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown that gave South Carolina a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. It was Sanders’ second career punt return for a touchdown.
Johnson was named offensive lineman of the week by the SEC. He graded out at 86 percent against Georgia with seven knockdowns and no quarterback pressures. The Gamecocks amassed 230 yards rushing and 162 yards passing against the Bulldogs.
