Citadel linebacker Rah Muhammad is out for the season with a broken bone in his lower leg.

A third straight loss cost The Citadel football team its spot in the national polls today. More importantly, it also cost the Bulldogs a second starting linebacker.

Sophomore linebacker Rah Muhammad, The Citadel’s third-leading tackler, suffered a broken bone in his lower leg in last week’s 38-7 loss at Samford, and is out for the season, coach Kevin Higgins said today. Sophomore linebacker Carl Robinson, the Bulldogs’ leading tackler, also is out for the season with a torn ACL.

The Citadel (3-3, 2-2 Southern Conference), ranked No. 22 last week, dropped out of the FCS coaches’ poll released today. The Bulldogs host Western Carolina (1-5, 0-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday for a Parents Day game at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
