10 questions for Charleston County School Board candidates
The Charleston County School Board is arguably one of the most dysfunctional governing bodies in the state. Its meetings typically last for hours regardless of its agenda, and the disagreements are frequent and fierce, sometimes escalating into personal attacks and, most recently, the chairman walking out.
Six of the board's nine seats are up for grabs Nov. 6. The Post and Courier asked candidates to answer 10 questions in 50 words or less, ranging from literacy to school funding to why they would be good for the job. Answers are here in a downloadable, PDF format document. (This document is best viewed on a large screen at high resolution.)
