Yorktown to go pink during October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
For the second year in a row, the flight deck of the World War II-era aircraft carrier Yorktown will be bathed in pink lights as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States and is one of the leading causes of cancer death among women.
The “Fighting Lady,” as the Yorktown is sometimes called, is the centerpiece attraction at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant.
