The aroma of fresh paint still entrances a house in upper Mount Pleasant, which changed ownership less than two months ago and is newly renovated.

At least for now, the upgrades can be enjoyed by someone other than the buyer. The owner is renting out the property at 1573 Oakhurst Drive in Rivertowne Country Club, at $2,850 a month for a year’s lease.

The 2,675-square-foot residence is on the 11th hole of the Arnold Palmer-designed golf course.

Marcia Rosenberg, the owner, is handling the lease including showings.

“The first thing that you notice is the extremely open and airy floor plan,” she says.

The great room is 500 square feet with tall ceilings and provides on idyllic views of the rolling golf course and marsh, according to Rosenberg. There’s a wood-burning fireplace, built-in shelves for books and collectibles, large-screen TV and surround sound speakers, she says.

Sliding doors open from the great room to the screened-in porch, which has skylights and a custom deck.

On one wing of the house is the master suite. The bedroom touts sliding doors to the screened porch, two windows that look out at the golf course, an oversized walk-in closet and a master bath with new granite countertops, garden tub, a separate shower and another walk-in closet.

“No one will be complaining about a lack of closet space in this house,” she says.

Three more bedrooms are on the other end of the house. One of the bedrooms sports a golf-course view and has its own bathroom. Two more guest rooms share a bathroom.

Maple cabinets and an island “workstation” distinguish the eat-in kitchen, Rosenberg says. New kitchen upgrades are stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The “bright and cheery” dining room opens to the great room, she says. The house has an irrigation system, laundry room next to the kitchen and a two-car garage with storage loft and custom-built lockers for golf shoes and the like.

Hardwood floors are in the entrance hall, dining room and kitchen. New ceramic floors mark the three-and-a-half bathrooms and carpets were installed throughout the remainder of the house.

The interior of the house was just painted, says Rosenberg, who acquired the home in mid-August. “I love the smell of the fresh paint, so, please — no smokers,” she says. Pets are negotiable, and “brokers will be protected,” she says.

Lawn care will be provided. And one final touch: “There are landscape lights which add to the allure of the lovely plantings around the house,” she says.

The house is on the south end of Rivertowne. Traveling north, take U.S. Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant to S.C. Highway 41. Turn left on Highway 41 and go about four miles. Make a left on Rivertowne Parkway, then in less than a mile, take a left on Rivertowne Country Club Drive. Proceed about two miles and turn left on Oakhurst. Ahead on the left is 1573 Oakhurst Drive.
