Cops around South Carolina rounding up prescription drugs
Associated Press
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Authorities around South Carolina are helping prevent prescription drug abuse by rounding up unwanted medicines.
Various law enforcement agencies across the state are offering people on Saturday a place to safely dispose of expired, unused prescription drugs.
The service is free, and officers say no questions will be asked. Local agencies are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration in the effort.
Authorities say prescription drugs that sit unused in home cabinets are susceptible to misuse and abuse.
