Lowcountry schools observe Constitution Day
Lowcountry schools recently celebrated Constitution Day, and one S.C. Board of Education member donated booklets to students for the observance.
Charleston County schools hosted speakers, and teachers incorporated Constitution-related activities into the day’s lessons, said Barbara Hairfield, district social studies curriculum specialist.
Larry Kobrovsky donated 1,500 Constitution booklets for Charleston students to be used as a resource.
Sept. 17 was designated Constitution Day in 2004. It recognizes the day the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787.
