WISE COLUMN: Burke’s Outlet to double in size in Summerville
Burke’s Outlet is more than doubling its size through a relocation in Summerville.
Now in an 11,029-square-foot space at 975 Bacons Bridge Road in the Summerville Galleria, the discounter will move into a 25,000-square-foot shop at 1301 N. Main St. in North Main Market on Oct. 12.
The larger Burke’s. part of Florida-based Bealls Outlet Stores, will include a full family footwear department, expanded home selections and more apparel. It will employ 26 workers.
Promotions during the grand opening that day include a drawing for a $100 shopping spree and a weekend coupon.
Food lines
Look for Ms. Rose’s to open in the first week of October at 1090 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in West Ashley near Gamecock Avenue, where the Sunfire Grill and Bistro closed this year.
And down the street in Orange Grove Plaza, EatWise Restaurants plans to open a concept called The Gathering in the shuttered Sweetsmith Bakery & Coffee space at 1124 Sam Rittenberg.
Also in Orange Grove Plaza, Dog & Duck Food and Spirits has closed.
Different stroke
Country Bumpkin Arts at 217 Lucas St. in Mount Pleasant is not only moving Wednesday-Friday, it’s also changing its name.
Owner Kris Rife is downsizing her art supplies and jewelry-making business from a 2,200-square-foot shop to 900-square-foot space at 918 Lansing Drive near Trader Joe’s.
The store will become Beads & Brushstrokes.
Pink parade
Tanger Outlet Center’s “PinkStyle” campaign against breast cancer runs through Oct. 25.
Shoppers can purchase pink cards for a $1 donation at Tanger Shopper Services Center or online at tangeroutlet.com, then use them for 25 percent off a single item at participating stores at the shopping center at 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd. in North Charleston.
Proceeds go to the Hollings Cancer Center and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Tanger officially will kick off the campaign 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday with a Pink Partini party.
