Say you’re an executive in town for an undetermined number of months, or a young professional not quite ready to settle down.
Either individual might be interested in renting a condo complete with ocean side deck, swimming pool and private fishing pier.
The spot is Sea Cabins condominiums at 1300 Ocean Blvd. on the Isle of Palms. One of the first-floor condos is for rent for $1,150 a month for four to six months or $1,500 a month for a year.
“It works out for people in all kinds of situations,” says Carron Smoak, who owns the condo and is handling the lease. One type of tenant: “people in transition,” she says.
For instance, someone with the airlines or a Boeing manager that hasn’t relocated here permanently might want to rent the one-bedroom unit, she says.
The newly renovated condo comes with a slew of perks. It’s furnished, well decorated and utilities are included in the rent. A dishwasher and microwave are features of the full kitchen. The bedroom consists of a queen-sized bed, ceiling fan and flat screen television-DVD. Similarly, the living room touts a queen pull-out sofa, flat screen TV-DVD and ceiling fan.
Hardwood floors highlight the kitchen and entry hall, while carpet covers the bedroom and living room floors. The bathroom has recently been fixed up.
Two built-in bunks and closet fit along a large hallway, which can be closed off from the rest of the condo for privacy or to use as storage.
A deck serves up scenic ocean views with cooling breezes.
At the same time, the unit can take advantage of the complex’s amenities. They include the 1,000 foot pier, which can only be used by condo owners, tenants and guests. The swimming pool has a “kiddie” pool next to it. There’s a laundry as well as washers and dryers in the pool house.
Located on front drag Ocean Boulevard, the condo is in walking distance to restaurants, nightclubs, ice cream parlors, shops, post office and Isle of Palms County Park. Bike, water sports and beach umbrella rentals are available nearby, according to Smoak.
The condo is not far from the Isle of Palms Connector. Heading north on the mainland, take a right off U.S. Highway 17 and continue over the bridge. Once on the Isle of Palms, stay straight onto Ocean Boulevard, which curves right. Ahead on the left are Sea Cabins condominiums and the condo for lease.
