Joint Guard and Citadel endurance march Saturday

The S.C. State Guard will host a voluntary readiness “ruck-march” hike with cadets from The Citadel on Saturday.

The joint hike will be held in the Francis Marion National Forest, off Highway 17 north of Charleston. Participants will hike a distance of 15 miles carrying his/her own pack-load of at least 75-lbs.

In addition to participants, the hike will be attended by several non-hiking dignitaries, including general-officers, state senators and a representative of the U.S. Army’s Special Forces Association. The march begins at 8:45 a.m. Assembly point is Steed Creek Road.
