JetBlue tickets for Charleston service now available online
JetBlue Airways began offering $76 introductory fares Thursday to Charleston travelers, who can now book online tickets for the carrier’s new nonstop service between the Lowcountry and two popular Northeast travel destinations.

The New York-bound flights are scheduled to depart Charleston International daily at 2:59 p.m. and 5:55 p.m. They will leave JFK International at 8:10 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
The Charleston-to-Boston daily flight is scheduled to leave at 12:45 p.m. The flight from Boston will take off at 9:35 a.m.
The flights run about two hours.
JetBlue said last week it will begin serving Charleston International Airport starting Feb. 28. Fare information was not released until Thursday morning.
The carrier will offer twice-daily service from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and a daily flight from Boston’s Logan International Airport.
Local tourism officials had been pushing to increase air service to the Northeast corridor, noting that they are critical but underserved sources of business and leisure travelers,
Charleston is the discount airline’s 76th destination and its first in South Carolina. To mark that, flights booked through Sept. 25 are on sale from as low as $76 each way for flights between Feb. 28 and April 30.
Travelers leaving from New York and Boston also can get those prices.
The carrier’s website would not allow any bookings after April 30.
JetBlue does not refund fares of less than $99. Changes to those tickets cost $50 plus any applicable price differences. Cancellations also trigger a $50 fee, and the balance of the fare can be credited toward a future flight for up to one year.
The first checked bag is free on JetBlue, as are in-flight snacks, soft drinks, TV and radio.
JetBlue will be flying 100-seat Embraer E190 jets on the Charleston routes. All of the flights run about two hours.
