Rep. Chip Limehouse will remain at the helm of the Charleston airport board at least through January.

Charleston County Aviation Authority voted 9-2 Thursday to delay the election of officers until after the holidays.

The airport board agenda called for changing the bylaws to move the election from September to January, but the board didn’t change the bylaws. They simply delayed the vote until January.

Board members Ben Hagood, Tommy Hartnett, Chip Limehouse, Spencer Pryor, Teddie Pryor, Larry Richter, Michael Stavrinakis, Keith Summey and Billy Swails voted to delay the election.

Board members Hernan Pena and Pat Waters voted against the measure.

Board member Andy Savage was absent, and there is one open seat on the 13-member board.
