Charleston County authorities investigate possible meth lab in Ravenel
Charleston County authorities were investigating a possible meth lab in Ravenel Wednesday morning.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Narcotics Units responded to the home of Joseph Oscar Chaplain III, 32, about 6 a.m. for outstanding arrest warrants, Maj. Jim Brady said.
Chaplain was wanted for criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and kidnapping related to an incident that happened on Aug. 29, Brady said.
Investigators believe the home, at 5803 Drayton St., was being used to manufacture methamphetamines, and are treating the site as though it is contaminated, Brady said.
Chaplain was taken into custody and may face additional charges, Brady said.
