911 calls released in stabbing death at Mount Pleasant motel
The Mount Pleasant Police Department on Wednesday released recordings of calls made to 911 after investigators said a man fatally stabbed his father with a sword earlier this week.
The calls include the voice of 22-year-old Elias Walker, who is charged with murder in the Monday morning death of his father, 45-year-old Anthony Walker, at the Fort Moultrie Motel on Stuart Engals Boulevard.
Walker initially summoned officers to Room 12, which was vacant, around 1:30 a.m. Monday. The police eventually found Elias Walker near Room 21. Blood was seen on his socks and on his shirt.
Inside the room, officers found Anthony Walker dying from stab wounds to the neck and chest.
His son told the police that he had been drinking beer and had left to buy more alcohol at a gas station. He said that when he returned, he found his father bleeding, according to an incident report.
But investigators said Elias Walker later confessed to stabbing his father as he slept.
He remains jailed without bail.
