Charleston police seek woman accused of stealing bike from garage
Charleston police say a woman walked into an open garage and rode away on a stolen bicycle.
The theft happened at a Fairway Drive home on Sept. 10, according to a Charleston Police Department incident report.
Rita Eiserhardt, 56, told police she was at home when she saw a woman walk up her driveway, into her garage and steal a turquoise Beach Cruiser bike valued at $150, the report states.
The garage door was open, but according to the report not visible from the street.
Eiserhardt told police she yelled at the woman to give back the bike, but the suspect ignored her cries and kept riding, the report states.
Eiserhardt attempted to follow the woman, but the report states she lost site of the suspect before she could get to her car.
Officers searched the area for the woman, but did not find her.
