UPDATE: Wreck on Westmoreland Bridge cleared up
A two-car accident on the William C. Westmoreland Bridge that had snarled evening rush hour traffic moving toward North Charleston on Interstate 526 has been cleared up, police said.
Charleston police were dispatched to the wreck about 6:45 p.m., spokesman Charles Francis said.
EMS and the fire department also responded to the bridge over the Ashley River between West Ashley and North Charleston.
One person was taken to a hospital, Francis said.
