Remains belong to Upstate woman missing since May
FINGERVILLE, S.C. -- Authorities say skeletal remains found by two hunters in Spartanburg County belong to a 20-year-old Boiling Springs woman reported missing in May.
Coroner Rusty Clevenger says the remains found on Friday have been identified as those of Crystal Lynn Freeman.
Sheriff Chuck Wright says Freeman was missing since April, but her disappearance wasn’t reported to authorities until more than three weeks later.
Wright says hunters found the remains in Fingerville on land close to where Freeman’s ex-boyfriend lived.
Authorities have not said how Freeman died, and no arrests have been made.
