Fire destroys Horry County meat processing plant
AYNOR, S.C. -- A meat processing business in Horry County has been destroyed by fire.
Assistant Fire Chief Justin L. Gibbons says the fire at the Aynor Conway Locker Plant started early Sunday morning. Gibbons says the roof had already been burned through when fire crews arrived.
A section of Highway 501 was shut down while firefighters worked to put out the fire.
Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire. Customers say the meat processing business had been a go-to spot for hunters in the western part of the county.
