Thousands head to Pet Expo
Thousands of people grabbed their pets today and headed to the Lowcountry Paws & Claws Pet Expo at the Exchange Park in Ladson.
The event, which was sponsored by The Post and Courier and ran through 4 p.m. today, featured cats, dogs, reptiles, and various animal supplies from 85 different vendors.
People showed up to look for a new pet, a gift for one they already have, or some low-cost vaccinations.
Event organizers said more than 5,000 people attended last year, and they expect a similar, if not larger, turnout today.
There is a $2 admission fee for the event. The proceeds will go to shelter and rescue groups participating in the event.
