North Charleston man faces child porn charge
A federal grand jury has indicted a 27-year-old North Charleston man on a child pornography charge.
Christopher Blackford faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the pornography possession charge, United States Attorney for South Carolina Bill Nettles said.
An investigation by the FBI and North Charleston police led to the Blackford’s arrest.
The case began in February 2011 when Blackford pawned his laptop computer at Money Man Pawn on McMillan Avenue in North Charleston, police said. When he failed to return for the computer, pawn shop officials found child pornography on the device as they were preparing it for sale, according to a police report.
