Walterboro man sought on murder charges surrenders
The Walterboro man accused of gunning down another in a nightclub parking lot last week has surrendered to authorities.
Quoteas Sylvester Nesbitt, 28, of Mincey Avenue in Walterboro turned himself in tonight, said Colleton County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ted Stanfield.
Nesbitt is being held in the county jail, charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He is expected to have a bond hearing Friday afternoon.
Moray Dupree Holmes, 34, of Walterboro, died after he was shot multiple times outside of Chase Lounge about 9:50 p.m. Sept. 6, Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey said.
The club is located at the corner of Proctor and Rivers streets, just outside of Walterboro. Authorities said Holmes was taken by car to the Colleton Medical Center, where he died.
