How you can pre-order an iPhone 5 on Friday

Three phone carriers will start taking orders for Apple’s new iPhone 5 on Friday.

Verizon Wireless: Online pre-orders begin at www.verizonwireless.com at 3:01 a.m.Verizon Wireless stores will take orders starting at 8 a.m. on Friday.

Sprint: Online pre-orders begin at www.sprint.com/iPhone at 3:01 a.m.

AT&T: Online preorders will be taken at www.att.com/iPhone at 3:01 a.m. The company also said customers can order them in their stores friday as well. The online pre-order time here coincides with the midnight pre-order time on the West Coast, where Apple’s headquarters are located.

The iPhone 5 starts at $199, a price that requires a two-year service contract.

Last year, buyers snapped up all of the entire launch-day stock of iPhone 4S devices in 24 hours

The new iPhone 5 will be available at all three carriers’ networks on Sept. 21.
