Homeless man denied bail in stabbing of North Charleston cab driver
A 36-year-old homeless man accused of stabbing a cab driver in North Charleston last week was denied bail during a hearing this morning.
Bobby Thomas Luntsford Jr., a felon with a lengthy arrest history, appeared before Magistrate Linda Lombard to face the charge of attempted murder.
After 9 p.m. Thursday, Luntsford hailed a ride to the North Bluff Apartments at 7925 St. Ives Road. The North Charleston Police Department said the taxi driver asked for the fare from Luntsford, who left the car. When he returned, Luntsford stabbed the cabbie in the neck, according to affidavits.
Considering Luntsford’s arrest history and that he’s on probation for burglary, Lombard denied him a chance to be released.
