The majority of people who completed a survey from the South Carolina Department of Transportation support the completion of Interstate 526 across Johns and James islands.

The DOT today released the results of the survey, which was sent to homes in the six zip codes that would be most affected by the project.

Overall, 72.2% of respondents in the target area favor building the extension of the Mark Clark Expressway along this proposed route, and 27.8% are opposed.
