FOLLY BEACH - City Council on Tuesday will take up the final consideration of the permanent ban on alcohol on the beach.

The ordinance has already passed two readings, each time by a 4-3 count.

On Thursday council passed final reading of an ordinance that makes the ban permanent - at least through the end of the year.

Folly leaders opted to end the practice after a July 4 riot drew thousands to the beachfront.
