S.C. Supreme Court denies appeals; local GOP ballot upheld
The state Supreme Court has dismissed appeals of two cases involving Lowcountry Republicans and the makeup of the November ballot.
The move essentially means that Sean Bennett is the GOP nominee for Senate District 38 anchored in Dorchester County after incumbent Mike Rose lost in the primary.
In the other case, incumbent Charleston County Auditor Peggy Moseley had tried to get primary winner Paul Gawrych removed from the ballot. He is now the official nominee.
The court said the appealing parties failed to pursue their respective protests through proper channels with party officials in a timely fashion.
