U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn

CHARLOTTE — U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., did not speak to the Democratic National Convention as planned tonight, but his appearance was rescheduled to Thursday, also the night President Barack Obama speaks, Clyburn’s spokeswoman Hope Derrick said.

Derrick said speakers generated a lot of applause, which caused the schedule to run behind. She said Clyburn agreed to move to Thursday evening at roughly the same time.

Clyburn appeared on the floor around 8:30 p.m., greeted supporters and went up and visited briefly with the South Carolina delegation.
