Personal credit card data hacked at Kiawah Island Golf Resort
Kiawah Island Golf Resort is investigating whether a computer hacking incident exposed some of its customers’ credit card data to fraudsters.
The resort said in a statement that it was the victim of “a computer systems intrusion, in which credit card information for some patrons of KIGR establishments was potentially compromised.”
The hacking occurred about a week ago. The high-tech intrusion was brief and quickly contained, spokesman Mike Vegis said today
The resort does not how many guests were affected, but the hacked information has not been used for fraudulent purposes, Vegis said.
“Card holders will not suffer any losses from the breach,” he said.
