19-year-old dies after hitting tree in Dorchester County
A 19-year-old St. George man died early today after the pick-up truck he was driving struck a tree off of Horse Trail Road in St. George.
Joshua Sweatman was driving north on Horse Trail when he ran off the road, hit a tree off of the right hand side of the road, and was ejected from the truck, a 1995 Chevy S-10, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Bob Beres.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene shortly after 1 a.m., Beres said.
Dorchester County Coroner Christopher Nesbit said Sweatman died from cervical spine fracture. Sweatman was not wearing his seatbelt.
