A list of items cut from the budget

COLUMBIA — A lower-than-anticipated surplus for the 2011-12 fiscal years means $14.7 million worth of projects will be cut from the 2012-13 budget. The supplemental spending plan calls for the items to be funded in the priority order listed, meaning those at the bottom lose out. They are, in order:

$250,000, Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, for safety improvements at an adolescent treatment facility

$500,000, Department of Agriculture, for marketing and branding SC-grown food

$400,000, Department of Agriculture, for State Farmers Market infrastructure

$600,000, Department of Agriculture, for State Farmers Market operations

$200,000, Department of Natural Resources, drill rig for geological survey

$100,000, DNR, for Savannah River Basin study, phase II

$250,000, DNR, for Catawba/Wateree River Basin study

$600,000, Darlington County watershed project

$150,000, restoring Lake Paul Wallace in Bennettsville

$250,000, bridge replacement at Kings Mountain State Park near Blacksburg

$200,000, for marketing and advertising the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston

$2 million, for College of Charleston’s “Interactive Digital Technology Pilot Project”

$4.4 million, Department of Revenue’s “South Carolina Integrated Tax System”

$200,000, University of South Carolina at Salkehatchie deferred maintenance

$500,000, Arts Commission grants

$393,000, Patriots Point Development Authority’s National Flight Academy

$200,000, Horry-Georgetown Technical College expansion to health care education center

$198,000, Coastal Carolina University scientific equipment for research vessel

$300,000, Education Oversight Committee, school district efficiency review

$3 million, Rural Infrastructure Fund
