Goose Creek firefighters battle blaze at Bojangles
Goose Creek firefighters are investigating a fire that happened at a Bojangles’ this morning.
Firefighters received a call from one of the restaurant’s employees about 5 a.m. saying the venue’s prep area was on fire, Goose Creek Fire Chief Steve Chapman said.
When firefighters arrived the flames and heavy smoke could be seen coming from the building, at 431 St. James Ave.
The fire took about 15 minutes to control, Chapman said, and about 1 hour, 30 minutes to clean up.
Several agencies helped control the blaze, including Goose Creek Rural, Joint Base Charleston firefighters and Pine Ridge Rural Fire Department.
Chapman said the building received extensive damage, but it wasn’t a total loss and he believes it could be repaired.
The restaurant will remain closed as repairs are made, Chapman said.
