Walterboro police are investigating a drive-by shooting in which a 21-year-old man was wounded this morning.
The shooting happened around 11 a.m. outside 205 Bailey St., police said. Witnesses told officers that someone drove by the home and opened fire, a police report stated.
Tyrone Jerome Wilson of Walterboro was shot in the lower back, police said.
The victim was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah because foul weather prevented the helicopter from flying to Charleston, Colleton County Fire and Rescue Director Barry McRoy said.
Hospital officials would release no information on Wilsonís condition late Tuesday.
