Name: Nancy Ross, interim principal.

Family: Husband, married 20 years.

Experience: Twenty years in education. I’ve been a classroom teacher and guidance/clinical counselor. I’ve worked in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Oklahoma.

Education: Master of Education in administration supervision from Charleston Southern University, Master of Education in counseling education from Pennsylvania State University, and Bachelor of Science in health and human services from Pennsylvania State University.

Why I wanted to go into education: I believe in children! I believe that children are our future, and I am constantly amazed at the resilience and capability children have when facing academic and social challenges.

Something I’ve always wanted to learn: I have always wanted to learn Spanish. I know a few words but would love to be fluent.

Something most people don’t know about me: Most people don’t know that I’m a Trekkie.

Something important life has taught me: Life and my upbringing have taught me that faith and a positive attitude can ease the mind and soul.

A specific goal for this year: A specific goal for this year is to continue the academic success Frierson has achieved, and to be a positive role model and leader for the students, staff and community.
