Masters Swimming training begins Sept. 5
Masters swimming, triathlon training and swim conditioning will begin Sept. 5 at the Live to Play pool, according to Jesup Szatkowski, director and head coach of the swimming program in Mount Pleasant.
The program meets 5:45-7 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the LTP pool, 1513 Mathis Ferry Road, next to East Cooper Medical Center.
“It’s open to anyone 19 or older, but the majority of our swimmers are in their 30s and 40s,” Szatkowski said. “It’s mostly people coming from a triathlete background who are working on stroke techniques and endurance. ... But we offer training for any ability level.”
The cost is $40 per month, and the training program will be open year-round. The one-year-old LTP pool is an outdoor facility that is heated and chilled according to the season. A temporary bubble will enclose the pool during the winter months.
