What did you do on your summer vacation? That’s what thousands of kids are asking each other as they settle into the first few days of school. It’s time for homework, going to bed early and catching that school bus as dawn breaks.

They are sharing photos, recounting the moment they looked out over the mountain or at the crab skittering across the sand in front of them.

For our family, we took on stand-up paddleboarding. That turned out to be a great new sport, as long as we didn’t mind falling in the water. We had on life preservers, though, so it was safe and fun, even if it required some balance.

We know that you took pictures this summer, so how about sharing them with us? We’ll post the pictures we get on the Your Lowcountry webpage, and you can comment on the very best.

Tell us two sentences about the adventure and who is in the photo, and it will be even more fun for everyone looking at them.

Here at Your Lowcountry, we can tell you what we did on our summer break.

We’ve added Youth Sports to our sections and are looking for parents to send in photos of their kids as they get back into sports leagues. We want every kind of sport, too, from karate to gymnastics, fishing to horseback riding, soccer to Little League baseball, basketball and football.

And we know that there are plenty of proud parents and coaches who want to see their stars featured.

So for all you moms and dads with cameras, add Your Lowcountry to your to-do list as school starts. We really want to hear from you, and youthsports @postandcourier.com is the way to do it.

And that includes teachers and school folks. Your Lowcountry is the place to feature school successes of all types, from creating that garden with the little ones to the robotic competitions with older students.

If you take great pictures of events at your schools, we want to hear from you, too. Send them to yournews@postand courier.com.

This fall, we also are looking for a few good bloggers who will help us get the news of the schools and the community. We want to know what is happening all around the area.

If you are interested, drop us an email at yournews@postand courier.com.

P.S. We also went to Folly Beach and watched as our hair stood straight up because of the thunderstorm overhead. Top that!
