Experience: 15 years in middle and high school.
Education: Bachelor of Science, Newberry College; Master of Education, The Citadel.
Why I wanted to go into education: I have always felt a calling to help people. As my education and skill set grew through high school and college, I was drawn more and more toward public education service. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to be able to serve the children and parents of Dorchester District 2 for the last 14 years as an administrator, teacher and coach.
Something I’ve always wanted to learn: I have always wanted to learn several foreign languages. I know some Spanish but not nearly enough to be able to claim I can “speak” the language.
Something most people don’t know about me: I love to read.
Something important life has taught me: Sunday isn’t the only day for time with God.
A specific goal for this year: To continue to develop programs at Oakbrook Middle School that meet the needs of all students in a manner that prepares them to benefit from the academic programs at Ashley Ridge and Fort Dorchester high schools.
