COLUMBIA — South Carolina redshirt freshman running back Shon Carson and senior cornerback Akeem Auguste will both be sidelined indefinitely, the team announced Monday.

Carson, a 5-8, 192-pounder from Scranton, underwent a surgical procedure on his left wrist this morning to repair an injury suffered in practice on Friday. The procedure was performed by Dr. John Walsh at Palmetto Hospital.

Auguste, a 5-9, 188-pounder from Hollywood, Fla., underwent a procedure on Sunday afternoon after injuring the muscle in his right thigh during Saturday’s scrimmage. He will be re-evaluated by Dr. Jeffery Guy in four to five weeks.

The Gamecocks return to the Bluff Road practice fields tonight at 7:30 p.m. as they continue preparations for their Aug. 30 season opener at Vanderbilt.
