S.C. workplace diversity award nominees announced
Three employers with Charleston-area offices are among the finalists for the S.C. Chamber of Commerce’s eighth annual Excellence in Workplace Diversity Awards.
They are: the law firm of Smith Moore Leatherwood, TD Bank and Verizon Wireless, all of which have their statewide headquarters in Greenville.
The other nominees are: Columbia Metropolitan Airport; Greenville Hospital System; Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Greenville; Midlands Technical College; Savannah River Nuclear Solutions LLC in Aiken; U.S. Engine Valve in Westminster; and SI SRS in Aiken.
The companies were selected based on diversity initiatives, effectiveness and other factors, the chamber said.
The winners in the large-, medium-size and small-business categories will be announced Sept. 13 in Columbia.
