Identity of Ravenel homicide victim released
A 25-year-old woman was shot to death early Saturday outside a Charleston County nightclub.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Club Frazier’s at 4871 County Line Road in Ravenel shortly after 4 a.m., sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said in a news release.
Security guards told deputies they heard gunshots in the parking lot and saw a man running away from a vehicle in the lot.
When deputies arrived, they found a female who had suffered fatal injuries, Brady said.
Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kelly Kraus identified the victim as Dominique Grant, 25, of West Ashley.
Grant died at the scene of a gunshot wound, Kraus said. An autopsy was planned for later Saturday.
Deputies used a tracking dog to search the woods behind the business and found the track ended on Moberry Road, the release said.
A motive for the shooting was not known, the release said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at 202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
