Georgetown Bulldogs
REGION: 7-AAA

2011: 7-4, 3-2

COACH: Bradley Adams (third year)

RETURNING STARTERS: 13 (6 offense, 7 defense)

PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Caleb Hughes, TB Julian Lunford, DE Anthony Blair, SS-OLB Jordan Ward, WR A.J. Walker.

OUTLOOK: The program continues to head in the right direction under Adams. The Bulldogs were 2-8 in 2009 and 5-5 in 2010, his first year at the school. The Bulldogs were 7-1 last year before dropping the final three games of the season. One of the team’s strengths is the passing game. Quarterback Caleb Hughes has two capable targets in Walker and Tarik Tucker. But Adams said his team must be able to run the ball to win games. The defense unraveled at the end of the season. The Bulldogs gave up 102 points in their first eight games, but surrendered 145 points in the final three games.

NOTES: Adams was a strong candidate for the job at Hilton Head but opted to remain at Georgetown. DB Cody Floyd and LB Jordan Ward are juniors who should make a big impact. \
