Dorchester 2 to discuss referendum at special meeting Wednesday
The Dorchester District 2 school board has scheduled a special meeting and board workshop for Wednesday to discuss a referendum for new schools and capital improvements.
The district is considering asking asking voters to back a $177 million bond referendum in November, and the board needs to decide before Monday how the question will be worded on the ballot.
The board discussed the issue at its July 23 meeting but felt like more information was needed before a decision was made.
The meeting will be held in the board room at administrative offices, 102 Green Wave Blvd., Summerville.
Prior to the workshop, the board will meet in closed session at 4 p.m. to discuss contractual matters. The workshop will begin immediately afterward.
