Whole Foods to offer first Wedding Show on Saturday

Whole Foods Market in Mount Pleasant will hitch its marketing to the marriage market on Saturday.

The upscale supermarket at 923 Houston Northcutt Blvd. will offer patrons a chance to taste their way to the perfect wedding during its Whole Wedding Show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For the first time, the natural and organic grocer will unveil a full display of various wedding offerings provided through its catering, bakery, specialty and floral departments. As an added plus, the Whole Foods Market “Whole Wedding Guide” will be available.

“Our wedding business has grown tremendously in the last two years as more people have become interested in having our high quality, great-tasting food available to their family and friends on one of the most important days of their lives”, said Pam Fischette, local Whole Foods marketing director.

The Whole Foods Market wedding staff will be on hand to answer questions.

Baskin Robbins has a new ice cream shop in West Ashley. Local owner Rudy Polito recently opened his second Charleston area shop at 1798 Ashley River Road,.

He will hold a grand opening noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Polito’s other shop is at 280 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant.

Making its bed
America’s Mattress is building a 4,000-square foot store at 1755 U.S. Highway 17. It will be the seventh store in the Charleston area for owners Jeff and Beth Ferguson and his brother, Dave. Look for an opening Sept. 1.

On the table
Delish! Bakery & Bistro is open at 272-B Meeting St. It’s open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Emily Floyd is the owner.
